What a Weekend!

This thanksgiving we were invited to three thanksgiving dinners. The first one was with my family and some friends on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and the next two were on Thanksgiving day. One was at 1:00 in the afternoon with my extended family and the other was at 5:00 with Brooke's family. We figured we could pull it off if we learned from our mistakes last year. We had 2 dinners on thanksgiving day last year and we were so sick at the end of the day that we swore we would never do it again. Yet here we were doing the same thing again. So we decided to be smart about it and really pace ourselves. We ate all the salads and desserts at one dinner and had the staples (turkey, potatoes, stuffing) at the other. We were full at the end of the day but not sick.

In between dinners on Thursday we came home to grab some pies and found a surprise, no dogs. We sold off all our puppies a few weeks ago and were once again down to two dogs, who had chewed away at a board in our fence, escaped and were no where to be found. We drove around the neighborhood for a minute but they have escaped before and had always come back so we left the gate slightly open in hopes that they would return for some food. Well they didn't. We searched the neighborhood Thursday night but no luck. When they didn't come home on Friday we were really worried. We didn't find them until a neighbor saw one of our signs on Saturday afternoon. They had been in her and her neighbor's backyard. They killed two chickens (not the first time unfortunately) and had a great time going backyard to backyard throughout the neighborhood.

We were glad we found them and it helped put is in a good mood after Utah lost to BYU, (we'll get them next year for sure). We did get most of our Christmas shopping done on Friday in between looking for dogs. I hate to say that black Friday is becoming a tradition for us. The crowds are crazy but it is nice to get some deals and get a good start on the shopping. It was a bit cold for Owen though.
