Dog Days of Summer

We recently placed our dogs in a new home. Whippet lovers aren't hard to find, but they sometimes live far away. We found a wonderful woman who wanted to keep both of them together, which was very important to us. She is a vetrinarian who lives in Denver, CO and everything felt right. We met her halfway (in Grand Junction) and both dogs are doing well.
Why did we place them, you may ask? For many, many reasons......Owen was showing allergies, upkeep became difficult, and Hailey became pregnant with another HUGE litter expected. Our new owner was thrilled to take both dogs and deliver the litter. Newborn pups are SOOO much work, and she has access to resources that will be great for them, not to mention a large network of people that would like a new puppy. So the decision just made sense for everyone involved.

During the week of my graduation, Hailey gave birth to 11 puppies! All are healthy and doing well and we are so grateful they are in such good hands! We are also happy not to have 11 crying newborns, with 11 poops to clean up everyday! Puppies are not that far from newborn babies with how much attention they need! Crying during the night, monitoring feedings, cleaning up poops! Wow! We don't miss that!

Of course, we miss our Hailey and Brinckley very much. That took some getting used to.

Awww! It is okay. We got rid of our dog too. He kept swinging his tail to hard and knocking the air out of Noah when he was a 2 year old. It was so frightening for him. Sorry puppy! He found a good new home.
